The Right Retainer for You
At Bains Orthodontics, we understand that each patient has unique needs when it comes to preserving their smile, which is why we offer a variety of retainer options. After completing orthodontic treatment, we provide our patients with both Hawley and clear retainers to choose from.
Hawley retainers are removable, metal retainers that run along the front of your teeth, effectively maintaining alignment. These retainers feature wires covering your teeth, which are attached to an acrylic piece custom-fitted to the roof of your mouth. When you think of a traditional retainer, this is likely what comes to mind.
Our clear retainers, on the other hand, bear a striking resemblance to Invisalign trays. They are crafted from thin sheets of plastic, which are meticulously formed to precisely fit each tooth. These custom-fit retainers are created based on a 3D-printed scan of your smile, ensuring a snug fit. Not only are these clear retainers nearly invisible when worn, but they are also exceptionally comfortable. An added benefit is that they can serve as teeth whitening trays, enabling you to simultaneously maintain the position of your smile while whitening your teeth.
